Supported Formats

We will list and describe here the file formats supported by Black Ink, whether they are proprietary or not.

Proprietary Formats

Format Description
.BKD Format representing a Black Ink document.
.BKBRUSH Format representing a brush in Black Ink.
.BKDPA Format representing pressure curve presets for Black Ink.
.BKPCOL Format representing color presets for Black Ink.
.BKSHC Format representing shorctuts database for Black Ink.
.BKREC Format representing one or more strokes created in Black Ink.

Image Formats

These formats are used in the import/export process of Black Ink.

Format Description
.JPG JPEG is a commonly used method of lossy compression for digital images.
.PNG PNG (Portable Network Graphics) is a raster graphics file format that supports lossless data compression, commonly used for web images.
.PSD "PSD (Photoshop Document) is a proprietary file format developed by Adobe for storing layered images, editable text, and other design elements.

.ICC An ICC profile is a set of data that characterizes a color input or output device, or a color space, according to standards promulgated by the International Color Consortium (ICC)
