Opening the color palette

When you click on the color preview, the color palette unfolds.

Closing the color palette

Once you are done setting up your color, simply click anywhere outside the color parameters window to close the window and draw with that color.

TIP

This is useful for two reasons:

The palette was opened inadvertently, its historic is always available.

Start from an existing color and to change it slightly.

In the color preview, the background represents the new color and the circle represents the current color.

To come back to the current color you can click on the circle.

Eyedropper

To choose an existing color in your drawing

 

 

Use the eyedropper

Click on the eyedropper icon.

Its button glitters and your eyedropper is enable.

If you click again your eyedropper is disabled.

Find your color

When the button is glittering,

if you go on the drawing area the cursor transforms into an eyedropper.

The drop shape is the preview of the new color.

The inner circle is the current color.

Select the color

Click with your eyedropper on your drawing, the color is selected.

If you picked the wrong color, click again on the eyedropper icon to start again.

 

By drawing in the canvas the palette color closes and your new color is active.

The eyedropper takes only colors of your drawing, and not image-based colors.

Alpha

Set your color's transparency

 

 

The slider on the left of the palette sets the alpha value.

solid_alpha-100

The color is opaque.

Its alpha value is 100%

solid_alpha-27

The color is transparent.

Its alpha value is 27%

solid_alpha-0

The color is invisible.

Its alpha value is 0%

Settings values

If necessary you can change your color with numeric value.

To change the numerical values click on the desired value or use [tab] if you have already selected one.

Enter your desired value and validate with [enter].
